FOTD: Nekkid Eyes

Every now and then a I get overcome by an odd feeling- the urge to wear neutral eyeshadow. Every thing else I wear is bland, boring, and dull. Colorful eyeshadow is my one "non-boring" aspect of my appearance. Seriously, I wear jeans, a t shirt, and Converse everyday. I either put my hair in a ponytail or wear it down and straighten it. I don't wear any jewelry or accessories ever.  See what I mean? Boring. I have 4 pairs of shoes- 2 Converse, 1 pair of tennis shoes, and 1 pair of flip flops (chanclas!) and three pair of jeans. I'm happy with this. It's simple and it works for me.

But put me in neutral eyeshadows and I feel naked.  After buying the Naked palette I'm starting to appreciate neutrals more, but I still feel more comfortable in hot pink eyeshadow than taupe.  So it was a little weird when I had the urge to do this look. I also wanted to practice my winged liner skills, but it's pretty obvious I need some more practice!

  1. Nice makeup!

I love neutrals on my eyes and I wear them almost everyday. When I feel like using some colour I go for some kind of colourful accent like bold colour in my waterline or bright mascara on my lower lashes. It's never boring :-).

  2. OMG, you look too cute! I like what you did with the naked palette. Still not a huge fan of neutral eyes myself, if not because they never seem to want to photograph correctly for me.

The Naked Palette is what brought me back to neutrals!

  6. @Atqa Beauty- Thank you!I do that too. If I don't feel like wearing a lot of eyeshadow I'll just put on some bold eyeliner. I don't think neutrals are boring; I just like to wear color on my eyes because I AM boring with everything else I wear, haha.

@Vijaya- Aw, thank you! I know what you mean. neutrals are usually more subtle and it makes them hard to capture the nuances accurately.

@Peace, Love, Sparkles- Thank you! And me too. I rarely wore them before buying this palette.

@Maribeth- Thank you! It's still hard for me to post pictures of myself because I feel so self-conscious. Everyone's nice words are helping, though. :)

@Susan- Eyeshadow is the one place I feel comfortable wearing bold colors. I'm not sure why. Even my shirts are all neutral colors or black! And thank you; you are too sweet! :D

  8. I dig this look on you. The shadow is subtle but still so pretty!!

Do you find the Physician's Formula black gel liner easy to use? I'm looking for a better liner than my black kohl liner but am not sure where to start in the world of gel liners. :)
