Pixi Succulent Lip Twin in Coral Camellia

So, my literature teacher is the perviest guy ever. He seriously creeps me out. I just checked Rate My Professor  to find out why I even took the class with him and it turns out that every girl who rated him talked on and on about what a huge crush they have on him. But he is creepy as hell and decidedly not attractive. The first day of class he had this disgusting mucus-y spit string that kept forming in between his lips. Every few sentences he would suck it back it in but it. kept. coming. back. I don't get grossed out easily but this was disgusting. Oh, and today we were discussing a poem that happened to have the word "erect" in it and he said, "Heh, heh. Now you know why people like my classes. I teach pornography. Heh. Heh." And then he giggle-snorted.If you've never hear a 45 year old man giggle-snort before I highly suggest you keep it that way because it is freakin' weird.  Haha, sorry about the rant; I'll get to the point of this post now.

Pixi Succulent Lip Twin in Coral Camellia
Several months ago I had a discount for Pixi products from their website. For some reason i never got around to reviewing them. Some of the things I got I really loved and others were just "meh". But in general I think Pixi is an underrated brand. It is on more of the expensive side, but about on par with stuff sold at Sephora like Benefit and Urban Decay.

Pixi, along with being sold on their website, is sold at Target. The prices are rather steep for Target and it can be hard to get past paying $18 for a lip product from Target, but if the product performs I don't see why it should matter where it's from.

These lip twins retail for $18, which is a bit more than I usually spend on lip products, but I would hesitate to buy it again. In the tip is a lip and cheek tint. In the tube is a what they refer to a lip balm because it is supposed to be moisturizing, but it has more of the consistency of a thin lip gloss. It is moisturing, however.

I didn't take arm swatches because my camera freaks out and insists on turning everything into a neon, even if it is not. This color is called Coral Camellia and both the tint and the balm are a pretty pink-y coral.

I absolutely love the color of this. The major issue with it however,  is that it tend to separate. As in the pigment separates from the base ingredients. All you need to do is shake it before you use it, but it is still annoying. I find it to be very moisturizing, but it is a bit thin and liquidy.

Also, due to the cap with the lip tint, this doesn't have an applicator tip. The tip is like a small toothpaste tip with a flat top. You would either need to use your finger or a lip brush. This doesn't bother me as I rarely use the tips of tube glosses as applicators anyway.

Like the balm the tint is a bit sheer. It feels a bit more like a lipstick than a tint, though. I have used it on my cheeks and it does leave a nice flush. I prefer this for lips, however. I find that the color lasts awhile, but is not particularly moisturizing after several hours. This is on par with most lipsticks for me.

Together they are much more opaque and bright. I love that you can get 3 different looks out of this lip product and can even use it as a cheek stain.  While this is not perfect, I really like it and it's worth considering. I plan on picking up another shade or two some time.

  2. Oh my God. Oh my God. Jess, I can't believe that! Who the hell lets these people teach? I mean, I have had my share of cute professors who have checked me out, but this is just beyond pervy! What's worse for you is that the semester just started, so you have a few more months before you can never see his creepy face again. Ugh.

Back to makeup. I love this look. I should check out more Pixi products. Do you buy a lot from them?

  3. @Maribeth- He is SUPER creepy. I don't understand why all these people claim to be in love with him. And yay for lip things! ;)

@Chris- Yeah, the rest of this semester is going to drag! I like dirty jokes probably more than most people, but this guy is creept and I don't want to here them from him. Plus, he addresses us as "children". Being perverted in front of a group of people you consider children is just odd.

As far as Pixi goes, I haven't really tried much from them, but I think it's worth it to try them out. I'm not sure I've tried enough to form a solid opinion of them in general.

  4. Oh man, this is beautiful! I have a weird love for that little ball of tint on the end, idk what it is but I'd just love to rub the colour all over my face. >__> *promises she isn't as creepy and disgusting as your professor*

  5. Oooh, what a pretty colour! Wow, your prof sounds really pervy. How nice that a 45 year old "professional" laughs at the word "erect" when he is in front of a room full of young people, at least half of which are probably young ladies. He just sounds like the epitome of class (NOT)!
