My Current Nightly Skincare Regimen

I rarely, well never actually, talk about skincare on this blog. Mostly because I really have no clue about it and have just barely begun to realize that "hey, I have skin!" and maybe I should start taking care of it. What has freaked me out the most is all the fine lines under my eyes that are cropping up and I'm not even 25 yet (only a little over a month, eep!).

I decided I should star some semblance of regular skin care and this is what I came up with at night. It's still a struggle to actually get myself to follow it every night, but I'd say 5 or 6 nights a week I succeed. And my skin already is looking better!

This isn't a review post, besides me just saying that all of these products work for me. I may get around to reviewing them eventually if I can motivate myself to do so, haha.

Burt's Bees Rosewater and Glycerin Toner
Burt's Bees Repair Serum

I was my face with a little scrubby cloth and Black Magic soap. Then I  use a cotton pad soaked with the toner and wipe down my face (I'm not sure this step is completely necessary, but I do it anyway). Last I use a few drops of the serum on my whole face including below my eyes and on my eyelids. And that's it!

Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

  1. I only started using toner at about your age and found it really does help! It does two things for me. It gets off any ickies that my cleaner missed and it gets my face a little moisturized in preparation for my actual face lotion. This way it sinks in better (and I can use less!)

That said, the Black Magic soap intrigues me. I'm pretty attached to my current facial cleansers, but people seem to just love the stuff. Makes me wonder if I really am missing out!

  2. Simple, I love it! I really want to try black magic soap. I have combination skin, but mostly oily :( Do you think this routine would work for me?

  3. @Cassykins- I think you're right about the toner. People say it isn't necessary but I have noticed those things you said so I'll probably re-buy it when I run out. Black Magic is awesome. They sell samples of so you don't have to commit to a full bar!

@RoboZelda- You definitely should try Black Magic. I've heard it working for all types of skin from dry to combination to oily. My skin leans to the dry side these days, but I think everything may work. The serum is just oils, but it doesn't make my skin greasy at all and I use the tiniest amount. I don't like face creams because they make my skin feel sticky-ish. The Black Magic is worth buying, though, at least a sample!

  4. Woo, Burt's Bees! :) I have a toner/cleaner so I don't do the toner step... I think it's necessary though? If they're not all together? Not sure. I have no idea what I'm doing basically. ;) (I wash my face, der der)

  5. Moisturing the eye area with 100& Jojoba oil is amazing. It's super cheap at most health food stores, and you only need a little.

  6. Oh my, I am SO bad for skincare! I have a bit of a "routine" but half the time I am too lazy to do it! I really should, as the bags and wrinkles around the old eyes are getting worse and worse, lol!
