I have my first "real" post scheduled to be posted tomorrow! It isn't anything fancy, just some happy spring green nails, but it's a start. I still don't have my camera, most of my nail polish or most of my makeup, but I'm making do with what I have (I'm dreading driving back to my old home to get my things... ugh). ANYWAYS, I will be posting sporadically when the urge strikes, but the urge is definitely returning... which makes me happy. Are things looking up for me? I hope so. I have a job interview tomorrow that I'm afraid to even mention in fear of jinxing it. It's for a part time supervisor position at an Estee Lauder makeup counter and I want it so badly! Oh well, even if I don't get it, at least I have had my first interview and got the ball rolling.
Just so this isn't a picture-less post, here is a picture of my precious chubby little baby girl sleeping on the window sill. She normally has the cute curled pug tail, but when she sleeps it straightens out.
She recently discovered that windows let you see things outside without actually having to be outside! Haha. This window is about 4 1/2 feet of the ground so I had to lift her up there. She spend about 15 minutes making angry "guffing" noises at cars driving by before she got tired and took a nap. She is decidedly too chubby for the window sill but that didn't stop her.
Ohhh, do you guys use Pinterest? I've been using it quite a bit lately. It's awesome for keeping track of things that catch my eye and usually immediately forget about. Here is my Pinterest link- http://pinterest.com/jessilpp/. Link me your Pinterest account in the comments so I can follow you! If you need an invite, just email me and I'll send you one.
Oh, I wanted to thank everyone who has left me such positive and uplifting comments. It's overwhelming to me that so many people I don't even know in "real" life care so much. You guys really are the best. I can't even begin to express how much it has helped. I love you all. Thank you.

The One Where I Get My Boyfriend to Talk About Makeup
I actually had a conversation about makeup the other day with my boyfriend that HE INITIATED. This is a big deal guys; this is a man who wouldn't even know I wore makeup if I didn't talk about it incessantly. He actually told me, "I like your makeup today." My first instinct was to squint at him suspiciously and ask if he wanted something. He looked at me confused and repeated himself and added, "I like the green eyeshadow on you." This is the guy who when I asked if my lipgloss looked okay he asked me why I was wearing slime on my lips. So after I remembered to thank him for the compliment on my makeup I asked him, "So, green eyeshadow looks best one me?" And he thought a moment (and this is normally a topic that bores him to tears) and answered, "Yeah I think so, I don't like when you wear bronze. It doesn't look good." And by bronze he means all metallic eyeshadow except for silver. Not that I care that he doesn't like it; I wear it anyway. I ask him, "Do you think bronze eyeshadow looks bad on everyone or just me?" His answer, "Well, everyone mostly, but I think on you it looks weird because your skin is so pale." And because none of my friends care about makeup, that was the most exciting makeup conversation I have ever had in real life, haha. Oh! And the other day we actually had a few sentence conversation about eye shadow primer. After I explained to him what it is and what it does he said, "That's pretty cool. I bet more girls would like makeup if they knew how to make their eyeshadow stick to their eyeballs longer." It's so cute that he makes an effort to be interested in my hobbies for my sake. Just wanted to share. Does anyone else have any stories involving makeup and their significant others or other clueless guy friends? Story time!
And just so this isn't a picture-less post, here is a swatch of my current favorite lip combo- Evil Shades Féline's Kyss over NYX Fig lipstick.
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

Doggie Pictures and a Neighbor Rant
I feel... defeated and sad. I talk big, but I'm really a big weenie who hates confrontation. It makes me shaky and nauseous. I have a tendency to become extremely angry and semi-incoherent. When that approach doesn't work (and it never does) I become coldly angry and eloquent. THEN I become quiet, reasonable, sad, and desperate to make things work and for the other person to see even a glimmer of reason (or at least that someone seeing something from a different perspective doesn't make them wrong). But usually by then it's too late.
If you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about, I got in a HUGE fight with my neighbor last night (through the 6 foot privacy fence, haha). She has 4 dogs and whenever she is home, they are always outside barking continuously. Yes, even in the middle of the night. We've lived here for 2 years and I've never complained about it but I finally got fed up. Also, her dogs antagonize mine. My bulldog is bad and bites on the fence between our yards, but only because her dogs are bouncing off the fence on the other side. To stop my bulldog from biting on the fence, we put a smaller flower bed type fence in front of it. But the bulldog has learned to jump that and right now we're waiting to get the money so we can build a better solution (a higher fence before the actual fence). But every time he jumps that stupid little fence I go outside and bring him in immediately. But because her dogs are out for hours at a time I can never let mine out. But that isn't even my issue because we are going to fix the little fence. My issue is the barking in the middle of the night. If you guys didn't know my boyfriend is a firefighter, and it's a stressful job. He NEEDS his sleep at night. I see him tossing and turning at night when her dogs are barking and I finally had enough. The confrontation started cordially enough by me asking her to keep them quiet at night because my boyfriend (and I) were having trouble sleeping. Well... it was a weird argument that devolved quickly into insults from both sides. I felt terrible and apologized and after she called me "insane, unintelligent, and a coward". I tried talking things out and it just didn't work. She said a lot of weird things that made me believe she isn't completely rational. Like this- she doesn't like to discipline her dogs or be "mean" to them because that have had hard lives. Wtf? I understand irrationality in anger, but this was before that. The things she said to me don't bother me, it's just all the negative energy lingering making me feel sick. That and the fact that she refused to do anything so I'm going to have to escalate the issue to our landlord. I just want the problem to go away. I just want to be able to sleep. Ugh.
I'm still too shook up to think about makeup right now, so I'll post some pictures of my doggies if you guys don't mind. They sometimes sometimes drive me insane, but more often than not they actually help me maintain my sanity.
Sorry for new pretties today. Just not in a pretty mood. If you guys want to see pictures of something pretty, make sure to look at the post from yesterday!

Boobies and Bulldogs!
Eeep! My scheduled post didn't go through for today! And actually it disappeared, which is kind of annoying.
Anyway, as I'm sure everyone on Earth knows, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We really should be conscious of the devastating effects of cancer ALL year, but it's nice that time is dedicated to getting the word out. I also think we need to be mindful of the not so "sexy" cancers (Although I must say- Yay for boobies!). Colon cancer runs in my family and it literally scares the shit out of me (Heh. Get it? I do take it seriously, though. My uncle has relapsed twice and had a colostomy performed 12 years ago). To be honest, I never really liked that it is called "Awareness Month". It doesn't matter if everyone in the world is aware, if no one is acting on it there will still be the same amount of people suffering. So I encourage everyone to give back to their favorite cause. It doesn't have to be cancer- just something that is important to you.
Karen from Makeup and Beauty Blog has an awesome campaign for awareness going on right now. Send in a picture of yourself holding a sign about breast cancer awareness month (the details are in her post) and it will enter you to win a HUGE makeup prize package.
Here is the picture I sent. Bulldogs are stubborn and it's hard to get them to sit still long enough to take a picture if they don't want to do it! You should have seen the outtakes.
Here is an outtake that wasn't super blurry from my dog flopping around. My boyfriend says that he looks like he's going to throw up, haha.

Serious Post is Serious
I don't normally like to talk about serious topics on my blog. My blog is supposed to be my escape from my responsibilities and all that is serious. But lately focusing my my petty problems is becoming more and more difficult. If anyone is particularly sensitive, they may want to avoid reading this post as it is sad/disturbing and almost plain unimaginable for most of us.
As you might now, I live really close to the border with Mexico. I'm sure most people have heard vaguely about the drug wars in Mexico, but few people really know how fucked up things really are. Check out Border Wars on The National Geographic Channel if you get a chance. It doesn't go into detail about what is happening on the Mexico side, but it's pretty eye-opening.
Innocent people are dying by the hundred and thousands in Mexico. You know what the drug cartels do? They force people to join them by threatening to kill them and their families if they don't participate. And they will follow through on their threats. So yesterday I watched a video of two people being beheaded. One with a chainsaw and one with what appeared to be a fairly dull-knife. The men were apparently rival cartel members and were shockingly resigned to their fates. The guys were made to talk for awhile and one of them mentioned they got paid $21 a MONTH to be drug runners. These are people who have no other options to feed their families.
If you think maybe those guys deserved their fate consider this. Two or three days ago a young woman who lived in a town just minutes over the US border (Nuevo Laredo) was murdered for speaking out about the cartels on a social networking site. She was beheaded and both her head and body were placed in a public place with a sign warning other people from speaking out. The cartels also kill en masse. It isn't uncommon to find massive dumping grounds of tortured bodies. They don't do this in the night hidden away from public view either. Last week in Veracruz Mexico in the middle of the day rush hour a cartel stopped traffic to dump 35 bodies under a busy overpass.
There is nothing people can do. The politicians and police are corrupt or powerless. Many people who live here have family in Mexico. Many people who go to my university even live in Mexico. They talk about how they can't even leave their houses. One of my professors was telling me that she went with a friend to Mexico for her friend's grandfather's funeral and they were stopped by masked men with AK47s who stopped them and searched their car. This actually happens fairly frequently. Sometimes they steal the car. My boyfriend is a firefighter and another firefighter he works with has a family ranch in Mexico. His father, who lives partly in the US received a ransom letter stating that they held his wife and needed so much money or they would kill her. So the guy's dad went to his ranch with the money to give them, but they murdered him.
My boyfriend's younger brother and sister used to go to the University of Texas at Brownsville. The university is located feet away from the border in Mexico. They would tell us that they could hear grenades and gunshot from their dorm rooms. One time the gym had to be evacuated because it was being hit by stray bullets coming over the border. Yes, things are bad. Really bad. And it seems like it's going to get worse before it gets better.
So sorry, no pretty pictures today. Maybe I'll feel like it in a few days, but right now it just doesn't feel right.

Giveaway coming later today!
I'm going to be posting a giveaway later today so keep an eye out! I'm still messing with Rafflecopter, the widget thing that is supposed to make doing giveaways easier, which is why I'm not posting it now. I'm not gonna tell you what I've giving away, you'll just have to keep checking back (probably some time early this afternoon)!

Supernova Goes POP!
Okay, so I was bored this weekend and decided to play with makeup and take weird pictures. I planned on doing both my eyes, but it took me 40 minutes to get ONE eye the way I wanted it, so when I went to take pictures I covered the other eye with my hair and pretended it was an artistic decision, not that I got lazy. So just pretend along with me mkay? Oh, and sorry for the random title; I was listening to some Powerman 5000 for nostalgia purposes and the song is stuck in my head. Does anyone remember When Worlds Collide from Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2? One of the best Tony Hawk games, imo. Haha, I'm such a dork. A dork who takes weird pictures of herself. You have been warned. Feel free to laugh. I showed my boyfriend fully expecting him to make fun of me, but when pressed he just said, "Well, that picture is a bit weird." Haha.
So here I am in all my weirdness!
The following things I used are from Evil Shades. The lipstick is Devilista. The blush is Skon (which is really too dark for me and make my cheeks look dirty, but it works with this look). The red eyeshadow is Heartless Queen. The black eyeshadows were Urban Decay's Creep and Gunmetal and I also used their Perversion eyeliner to tightline and on my waterline.
Now some eyeball pictures! I'm rather proud of this. It took me forever and I'll never do it again because it was a pain in the ass. Sorry for the random hairs in the pictures!
Here you can see Skon on my cheeks pretty well. It doesn't really work as a blush for me (the pinkness you see under the grey is my natural cheek color), but it is gorgeous as an eyeshadow. I just have a sample but I think I need a full size to use on my eyes!
As I mentioned, I did this because I was bored. This look is already a bit over the top from what I normally wear. not that I wouldn't wear it, it just took me too damn long and I'm lazy. But I decided to take it even further and turn myself into a chola. If you don't know what a chola is, here is a picture of Sandra Bullock as a chola-
The full face pictures didn't come out right, but basically all I did was add some black on the outer parts of my lips and color my eyebrows in thick and black. It was chola-riffic!
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

Random Self-Indulgence and an EOTD
Ugh, I feeling extremely uninspired when it comes to my blog lately. I'm putting so much pressure on myself to post something every day and blogging in general is starting to feel like something I obligated to do, not something I do because it's fun. And I can tell with the quality of my posts. I fell like they're getting shittier and shittier.
I'm the type of person who can't seem stick with one thing for long as far as hobbies go. I have the remnants of tons of former hobbies stored in boxes filling up an entire closet in my home. I still like makeup and nail polish, I'm just feeling decidedly uncreative when it comes to my blog. How many swatch posts or "here is a picture of my derpy face" posts can I have? Blogging USED to be exciting for me. I'm not that great with friends in my "real" life, so I love all the people I have met and have become friends with through blogging. But the actual blogging itself- I'm burnt out. I feel like I say the same things every post. And I'm terrible at reviews. I either love or hate something! I don't know why. Haha.
I dunno, maybe I should take a break? I'm afraid if I take a break I'll never come back! I guess I should blog when I'm inspired to do so, not because I feel I have to. I haven't missed a day posting since I started and I know I'll be so mad at myself if I miss a day! The rational part of myself knows this is silly, but yeah, I'm not entirely rational. It just sometimes feels like I've quit everything I've ever tried in my life and it's a pretty shitty feeling. *Cue the self-pity* Haha, I tend to blow things out of proportion sometimes. But I still don't know what to do. I don't want to stop blogging, I want to start loving it again! And I'm not quite sure how to do that? Anyone have any suggestions?
And to prove I still love makeup, here is an EOTD I did a few days ago EVEN THOUGH I WAS SICK. Such sacrifice, such dedication. ;-P
This is Darling Girl My Little Pony over a random purple eyeshadow pencil thing I got at the dollar store. My Little Pony is absolutely gorgeous. It is a lavender-ish purple with a green duochrome.
Sorry for the mopey post. If you guys have any suggestions or advice I would greatly appreciate it!

Computer Mishaps and a Doggie Picture
So my graphics card decided to die last night as I was about to write my post for today. It was too late for my boyfriend to mess with it and he works today and won't be home until 8:30 am tomorrow, so I'm stuck with nothing to post. I've had my computer for nearly 7 years and while it still functions well (it was custom built, not one of those shitty slopped together things with integrated graphics from Walmart. I learned my lesson against those a looooooong time ago). So maybe this means I can get a new computer! Haha, more than likely I'll just be getting my graphics card replaced with the sometimes-functioning one from my boyfriend's old computer. Until then, I'm stuck on his computer with no pictures, but of what I already have on my flickr account. And this damn cold or whatever it is I have is lingering like an unwanted houseguest, and it's annoying.
So until I get everything figured out, here is a picture of my dogs with their tongues out. If I have already posted this, I apologize. Actually I'm not sorry; it's damn cute and you guys need to see it again!

Cult Nails Labor Day Sale
So, I'm still sick. Yay. I barely have the energy to sit at the computer, so I just have something quick for you.
I got an email from Cult Nails announcing their Labor Day sale and I thought I would pass it on to you guys. In case you haven't noticed, I love Cult Nails. I love that Maria, the owner, had this dream to start her own company and actually followed through on it. How rare is that? And you can tell she puts everything she can into making it a success, in addition to having a family AND a "regular" job. I'm not affiliated with Cult Nails at all, just a huge fan and extol their virtues every chance I get. I own every polish they have released so far! Check here to see my previous Cult Nails posts and swatches.
Let me know if you guys buy anything. I love being an enabler! And yes, they do ship internationally and the free shipping (on orders over $60) applies to both domestic and international orders!
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

Makeup I Packed For a Short Trip
So classes start on Monday for me and my boyfriend and I are gathering up our dogs for one more trip to parents' before I won't have time to visit for several months. I probably won't get to see them again until December, which makes me sad. :( It takes 5 hours to drive there so we're leaving early today and we'll be there until Sunday afternoon. I showed you guys what I brought with me when I visited them for a week and a half earlier this year (that post is here). I thought I brought more than enough makeup then, but I ended up not wanting to wear anything I brought, haha! This is a shorter trip so I'm bringing much less and it was so hard to narrow it down.
Haha, editing the pictures right now I realized that I forgot to pack mascara! Phew, glad I didn't forget that. If I could only pick one item of makeup to wear it would be mascara as it alters my appearance the most. Invisible eyelashes for the loss!
This time I picked the the bag I was going to use BEFORE I picked the makeup I was taking. This definitely helped me not try and bring my whole collection. And I am inordinately proud of myself that I only brought one blush. Haha, I have the worst willpower ever if I'm proud of that. I'm seriously considering trying to stuff another one in the bag, but I must resist!
Here is everything shoved inside the bag. It fits, I promise!
I love this bag; it's from Tarte.I'm on 2 different auto-delivery things of Tarte makeup from QVC and each time I get sent a different purple bag. I have 3 right now and love them all!
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

My Favorite FOTD Yet- Green and Gold
I'm gonna show you the look I did yesterday and it's perhaps one of my favorite looks ever! It's cool because I can really feel myself getting better with eye makeup application. I'm not good by any means but it has been nice to see actually progress in becoming reasonably adequate.
Hmm, I'm trying to think of anything new to tell you guys. Um, I made an A on my first exam for my biology class! Haha, that is my whole life- studying with a tiny bit of blog thrown in. Oooh, I made some badass chicken parmesan the other night. It was totally non-authentic and completely fattening but I don't care because it was delicious. But we had salad on the side so it made it okay, heh. Isn't it easy to justify things to yourself? I'm the master at it.
Oh, and one other thing I wanted to mention. October is breast cancer awareness month. As a proud owner of a pair of tits (like most of ya'll), breast cancer is an important issue to keep, ahem, abreast of. I will be participating in a blogging event in October to raise awareness and hopefully donations to help fund the fight against breast cancer. If you have a blog and would like to participate or would just like to donate to a good cause (the Susan G Komen Foundation) here is the link to the project's blog- http://teampinkeye.blogspot.com/. I am really looking forward to participating!
Eyes:
This last picture was taken after I had been wearing this for 8 hours. It held up really well, especially considering my super watery right eye. Yes, for some reason my right eye is more watery than my left. My left is only moderately watery, haha. No matter how much primer I wear the watery-ness eats away my eye makeup in the inner corners of my eyes.
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

A Haul- Or I Can't Believe I Bought Stuff OTHER Than Makeup
Doesn't it feel like I'm always complaining how I don't have time to write proper posts? Well, that. Again. I have a few posts brewing including a review of Spellbound Cosmetics that I can hopefully finish up over the weekend. For now, it's anothe rinstallment of "shit I bought recently". I've been trying to cut back on my spending and i think I'm doing pretty well. What I've bought recently I've either really wanted for awhile, or was on sale (and mostly both because I'm a sucker for sales). I'm also trying to branch out with my purchases because all I ever buy is makeup. So I bought some jewelry. These are probably the first pieces of jewelry I've bought since I was 13 and shopped at Claire's. I told you guys I don't accessorize.
My nails have been such a pain in the ass the past few month. They're brittle, peeling, dry, and just generally weak. I've been taking biotin pills for a few weeks but it will take longer than that to see results. I think I might be damagine my nails by using straight acetone all the time. I've heard great things about Zoya's Remove+ nail polish remover so when they had a code to get a free 8 ounce bottle of remover I picked up the 32 oz. to go with it. $25 is a lot to spend on nail polish remover, but it if helps my nails, it's worth it. Plus, the huge bottle *should* last for awhile.
I bought the Cover Girl Natureluxe gloss balm on Amazon when they had a $3 off coupon for it. I have Amazon Prime, which gives you free 2-day shipping so all I paid for this was $2.99. No tax or shipping! Yay! I just wish that Amazon wasn't so wasteful in ow they package things. I got a huge box for this tiny little balm.
I bought a Heartsy certificate (personal referral link) for this store because I thought their earrings were really cute. I paid $8 for the certificate worth $20. My boyfriend said they look like little girl earrings but that's precisely why I like them!
I LOVE this necklace! You may have heard of this Whimsy Beading because they seem to be a favorite of bloggers. It's easy to see why because this necklace is gorgeous! I've been wanting one for awhile and finally decided to buy. I had a super hard time narrowing down the one I wanted, but I definitely plan on buying more when funds allow!
Here is the one I bought- it's called Poet Seas.
See? I didn't do TOO much damage! Hopefully I can remember to actually wear my jewelry...
Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Random EOTDs And A Wall of Text aka Random Blatherings
I feel like talking today. If you guys want to skip the wall of text I'll understand!
Tuesday was my boyfriend's birthday. He's been wanting to go to a shooting range for the longest time so his step-dad took him for his birthday. I wanted to go also just because we have a gun in the house and it makes me uncomfortable having it there when I don't know how to use it properly. So we went to this tiny indoor shooting range that only had a few lanes. Luckily we were the only ones there because, sorry for the vulgarity (actually I'm not too sorry, I have a terrible potty mouth in real life), but I freaked the fuck out after shooting the first time. I wasn't expecting it to be so loud or... powerful. I was wearing ear protection but they had to go and get me some heavy duty ear phone thingies AND ear plugs at the same time before I would even go back in. I guess I have really sensitive ears because it hurt! And I usually have a really high pain tolerance. Plus ear pain is freakin scary. I like to be able to hear, thank you very much!
Ugh, I felt like such a weenie. I started crying because I was so overwhelmed. Isn't that so stupid? I was so angry at myself, which made me cry more. I wasn't scared of the shooting part so much, but more the noise. The fear was weird and completely involuntary. I've never felt like that before- like a deep-seated desperately primal fear. And of course it pissed me off so much that I shot that damn gun until I started to like it (well, at least get more familiar with it. I don't think shooting guns will ever be my idea of fun. It's kinda boring after awhile). But it's still scary. Shooting a gun is nothing like how easy they do it in the movies. It feels substantial and most definitely lethal. For the gun enthusiasts out there I'm sure it seems like I'm making a big deal about nothing, and even I was surprised that it felt like a big deal. My boyfriend's step-dad said that next time he would take us to an outdoor shooting range where the noise isn't so bad. Apparently they have a outdoor range right across from the prison out in the middle of nowhere. Because that totally seems like a logical place for a shooting range- next to a prison.
For those of you that have shot guns, do you experience anything similar your first time? I think it made it worse that I was in a tiny enclosed space. I have a tendency for panic attacks and anxiety and in there with the guns going off I felt like a trapped animal. Now that I think about it, I was having a bit of a panic attack. It was only my embarrassment and my pride that kept me semi-composed. Ugh, I'm so dumb.
Well, that was incredibly long. Thanks to those of you that read it.
Here are a few random EOTDs that I've worn over the past month and a half. The whole face pictures weren't good enough so I cropped out my eyeballs. And I don't remember everything I was wearing in all them but I'll try.
This is a random purple eyeshdow from NYC in the crease and Verve from the Urban Decay Rollergirl palette on the lid.
This is all the neutrals from the Rollergirl palette and some grey eyeliner my mom gave me that does not match the look at all.
I don't remember the exact shades, but the eyeshadows are all from NYX. The gold liner is Pure Show from MAC.
Here is the oh-so-sexy half asleep eye. I'm wearing all 4 of elf's studio creme eyeshadows.
I'm wearing Benefit's Creaseless Cream eyeshadows in Plum-ing For Gold with Taupe-Aztic on top. They were part of some limited edition collection and not available any more, which is a shame. I'm also wearing MAC's Pure Show on my upper lash line.
This is Estee Lauder's Shadowstick in Teal on my lid with High Voltage Cosmetics' Mani & Sol in my crease. I'm also wearing MAC's Treat Me Nice eyeliner above my upper lash line.
I liked this look so much I'm going to post another picture of it.
Thank you guys for reading this! If you made it through my wall of text and random pictures you deserve something cool. Like a cookie!

FOTD: Pink-Orange Eyes, Coral Cheeks, and Straight Hair
Whew, another long day and I'm wiped out. Sooo... that means another short post. Sorry! :( Here is a quick eye look I wore to school last week. Someone ALWAYS has to comment whenever I wear bright or bold eyeshadow. Colors like this normal to me, but there is always someone who says (usually a catty girl wearing thin veil of courtesy), "Wow, your eyeshadow is really... bright." No shit lady, I may not be the best at it, but I really did not apply it in the dark. I do know what color I'm wearing.
The time I wore this, a girl in my chemistry lab walked by and did a double take. "Um, why are you wearing orange eyeshadow?!" I just stared at her in shock for a few seconds, not knowing what to say. My lab partner (a guy; he's really cool) said, "Uh, maybe because she wants to?" I just smiled at her at her and said, "Well duh, you couldn't think of that yourself? You had to ask me?" At this point my lab partner was sniggering at her and I guess she didn't expect him to take up for me so she spun around really quick and went back to her table. I just told me lab partner, "What a dumb bitch", we laughed for a minute and moved on. She still glares at me whenever she sees me. I just smile at her.
I don't understand why people feel the need to boost themselves by tearing other people down. Or trying at least. I'm far enough out of middle school to where the mean things girls say doesn't bother me. I obviously wear or do something because I like it, not because you do. How hard is that to comprehend?! When people are catty like that, I just laugh at them. They are plainly insecure and trying to boost their self image by ruining yours, so laughing at them is probably the worst thing you can do.
On that note, here I am in my orange eyeshadow.
I'm wearing some mattes from Sleek's Paraguaya palette on my eyes, and Tarte's Amazonian Clay blush in Glisten on my cheeks. I'm not wearing anything on my lips because I forgot. Boo. I ended up wearing MAC Evolution Revolution lipglass and wish I had gotten a picture of the whole look together.
I've decided to post pictures of myself more often. I'm tired of being insecure because I'm overweight. I'm not so afraid of being judged because I'm fat, but because I'm weak. Being overweight shows that I'm weak and THAT is what bothers me for other people to know. I'm ashamed that I'm not happy with my current body (mostly for health reasons), but I lack the willpower to change it. I know plenty of people who are overweight and perfectly content with themselves. But that isn't me, and I try my best to hide my discomfort with myself because my weakness scares me. I also think I just try to ignore it, which keeps me being fat, because I would be reminded of my failings. So, I try not to think about it (even though it doesn't really work, haha). Does that make sense?
Woah, this post was longer and more personal and introspective than I originally planned. Eh, it was cathartic to type about, even if no one reads it!
But to those who did, thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

Beware! A Rambling Nonsensical Post Ahead! And a pic of me
Ugh, I'm so freakin' tired but I HAVE to write at least a small blog post because I haven't missed a day yet! I post my entries at 6:00 am CST for some arbitrary reason that I forget immediately after I decided to do it and haven't deviated from it since I started my blog. And because I am NEVER awake at 6 in the morning, I usually write my blogs posts the night before. Or schedule a few in advance if I'm anticipated being extra busy (or extra lazy).
But I'm late writing this one because my computer crapped out on me today. My boyfriend figured out it was power supply because it worked when he placed the power supply from his computer in to mine. So we went to Best Buy and bought a power supply and I have a computer again! I hate buying things from Best Buy because they are so expensive compared to buying online, but I couldn't wait the few days for it to be shipped. And my poor boyfriend- he was being nice and trying to fix my computer and now his won't work! But he can't figure out what is wrong with it. :-/ He really could use a new one, I just need to convince him to let me use some of my loan money from school to buy him one. He says no because I need it to help pay for my hospital bills so they don't mess up my credit. I love that guy; he's the least selfish person I know.
Anywaaaaaaay, I'm rambling. I'm so tired and I feel like I've been awake for days. I haven't even figured out what pictures I'm going to put in this post yet, I'm just trying to fill up enough space so it can be considered a proper post!
Okay, I just realized I have no pictures edited and I really don't feel like doing it right now. I know I haven't posted a real picture of myself for several reasons that I'm way too tired to get in to right now, but I figured now is a good time. Here is a crappy bathroom mirror picture in bad lighting taken with an iPod the one time I'm wearing my glasses (I always wear my contacts). I like this picture because my face looks thin (it really isn't) and my hair looks decent (it normally doesn't). I'm also not wearing any makeup but the picture is such crappy quality that you wouldn't be able to tell anyway. Plus, blurry pictures make anyone look better. So this is what you guys get for now.

Okay I'm at the point of extreme tiredness where everything feels like a not real. This post probably doesn't make any sense and I probably will completely regret it tomorrow. Oh well.

Random Walmart Purchases
I hate shopping in the cosmetics aisles at Walmart. They rarely restock and the little that is there is strewn about and used (gross). But, it's the only place to buy Hard Candy makeup. Wendi from Makeup Zombie posted a picture of an awesome lippie from Hard Candy and it made me immediately drop everything and head to Walmart. I went to two Walmarts and didn't find the lippie that she posted about, but I did pick up a few other things. Including nail polish. I ALWAYS have to buy nail polish. I don't even know how there are still colors out there I have yet to buy.
I bought 3 petites nail polishes (that purple glitter in the middle is freakin fantabulous looking), the silver Sally Hansen crackle, one huge honkin' lipgloss with flakies from Hard Candy, 2 Hard Candy lip pencils, and a Milani lipgloss. Not sure why I bought the Milani gloss. It's virtually sheer and it smells like tongue depressors from the doctor's office. Oh, and that big thing on the left? I finally got a mirror! I put my makeup on at my desk since the lighting in both my bathrooms is crapola, and I've been using a crappy mirror from an eyeshadow palette for months.
Here is a random picture for you because I hate just having one picture in a post. This is the picture I have hanging over my desk. I don't know who the artist is or anything about it really, but my best friend's dad owns a print shop and he had a bunch of prints and posters that he was just going to throw away. I still have a bunch to frame but I have some really cool ones. One of my favorites is a Primus poster advertising a show with a robot wearing a moustache and a sign that says "Free Moustache Rides". I'll have to show you guys some more sometime.
Weird picture, huh? I think that's why I like it. :)
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

Makeup I Packed For Vacation
So the boy and I (and our dogs) are going on a little vacation. Nothing big, I'll tell you a little more about it tomorrow because I'm running out of time! I still have to pack my other things!
I just wanted to show you guys what I'm taking with me. Like always, I'm taking way more makeup than I need. We're only going to be gone a little less than a week and half, but I feel like I'm bringing a lot. Hey, I like options when it comes to makeup. Clothes on the other hand- meh, I'll wear whatever. I'm probably just bring a few pairs of jeans, my Converse, and some shirts. We'll have access to a washing machine so I don't need to pack my whole closet. My boyfriend on the other hand probably will pack his whole closet. I swear he changes clothes like 3 or 4 times a day. While I sometimes wear the same jeans 2 days in a row. Shhh...
So here is what I'm bringing:
Sorry about my ugly makeup brushes- they need a bath.
Yikes! Looking at this picture made me realize I almost forgot my mascara. Now THAT would have been a disaster. And I don't think my boyfriend would have let us turn the car around to get it. Oh, and I don't have any lip products here because they are all in my purse already.
So does it all fit in my makeup bag?
Yup! Just barely! I had to take a few things out, as much it pained me to do, but it fits! It's hard to believe that not so long ago (last year) this makeup bag held all the makeup I own in the world. Now it holds about a 10th of it.
And here are the nail polishes I'm bringing:
I had to severely limit myself to only bring this many. I'm not going to lie, it was hard. :-P I know I won't use all of these, but I'm used to having hundreds of nail polishes to choose from, so once again I need options!
So, what about you guys? When you go on vacation do you tend to over-pack or under-pack? And what makeup do you bring?
Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!
I'm Conflicted...
I'm really conflicted and I'll show you why.
This arrived in the mail yesterday:
I ordered this several weeks when Cherry Culture was having a 50% off sale on NYX. This was supposed to be an anniversary gift from my boyfriend (hey, the man knows what I like, and it ain't flowers), but now it's tainted. Boo.
I'm sure everyone knows by now about the NYX sale debacle. I'm so sick of the situation and disgusted with the company and I don't really feel like going into it right now. Here are a few articles written about it if you don't know what I'm talking about.

There are other great articles written by bloggers, but these were the ones I remembered off the top of my head.
I don't understand why such a fairly large company would treat, and still continue to treat it's customers the way they are. I understand server issues, it happens, but the way they handled the situation was and is deplorable. It was super bad luck on my part that I just happened to place this huge order of their products, albeit from a different website, right before this incident. If I ever HAD to have an NYX product in the future, I would NEVER purchase it directly from their company. I recommend buying from Cherry Culture or Ulta or some other retailer.
So now I have all these products that I'm unsure about. I can't return them as they were a final sale being 50% off or I probably would have. I will use them because I paid for them and I actually do like the products. But, I hate supporting and promoting a company like them. So, I'm conflicted. I don't know whether I should swatch and review them or even use them in looks for the blog or not. I don't want to tell people what they should and should not buy, but posting about the products on my blog is pretty much supporting the company. What do you guys think?
Also, the wonderful, fabulous Jasmine of High Voltage Cosmetics was recently trying to get rid of a bunch of her NYX eyeshadows (this was also before The Great NYX Customer Service Fail of 2011) and she offered them for free, just had to pay shipping. Super nice of her right? Here they are:
Pretty much over night I have tons of NYX products. Do you guys think I should review/swatch/use on the blog or not? Ugh, why did they have to be such buttholes? Why couldn't NYX just have handled it in decent way so I wouldn't be feeling like this right now. Ah, the miseries of first world problems, amirite?
