Pollen Cosmetics Swatches and Review

I'm usually hesitant to buy from brand new companies because I'm afraid of being burned but I had to take the chance when it came to Pollen Cosmetics (they just opened October 14th!). The pictures looked beautiful, each listing has swatches (yes!), the descriptions were well-written, and each one listed the ingredients for that shadow. Plus the owner is professional and super nice. I'm tired of the companies that pop up overnight just because someone though it would be a cool idea to make eyeshadow, and has not done their research at all. Everything about Poolen Cosmetics is thought out, researched, and professional. And the colors looked gorgeous. I'm so glad I placed the order!

I bought a sample pack of 10 and I paid $8.50 plus $1.50 shipping (they included a one free sample with my order so I have a total of 11). My order was shipped in a standard bubble mailer and I received it very quickly.

I love, love, love the formula of these shadows. They're smooth and almost creamy feeling. Even without primer they adhere to the skin well. The colors are shimmery, but the shimmer isn't over the top and none are glittery. I didn't get any fall out from using these. I like that each sample baggie comes with it's own printed ingredient label. I didn't buy any full sizes, but they have ingredient labels as well, which is nice. The colors are gorgeous and even the subtle ones are nuanced and unique. It's frustrating, but I wasn't able to capture the true beauty of the eyeshadows. I suggest everyone pick up a few samples at least and you'll see I'm right!

As usually the top row of swatches are dry over bare skin and the bottom row are over Pixie Epoxy.

The only thing I wish is that they offered samples in jars! I'm too much of a klutz for baggies and I have so many eyeshadows that I will never use up a full size. But but is just s small complaint. I highly recommend Pollen Cosmetics!

  7. These look so beautiful, and I don't mind baggies as I like that they take us less room than other samples. I'm heading to the etsy store now, thanks for the review x
