Getting Buried Alive Is Totally Worth It With This Orly Polish

Ugh, I'm sorry guys. I've been such a terrible blogger. I don't know how I used to manage to post every day AND go to school full time. School takes more time than working because you have homework, studying, papers, etc. And I'm only working part time now and it feels like I have no time! 95% of my makeup and nail polish is still at my ex's house, so that puts a huge damper on my creativity. The amount I do have here is still way more than what most people own, but I'm used to more choices! I feel stifled with "only" 7 blushes to choose from. Haha.

I'm still buying nail polish and makeup and it's slowly adding up. When I finally do get all my stuff back I need to do a MAJOR de-stash and hopefully have a blog sale or something.

Has anyone seen the new movie directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter? Maybe I should be more specific since that previous sentence describes like 10 movies, haha. The Dark Shadows one? I haven't and I'm not so sure I want to. I usually love the Burton/Depp combo but it almost seems like it's starting to feel a bit, dare I say, stale and overdone?

I wasn't too excited by Orly's new collection inspired by Dark Shadows either. 2 colors were renamed and re-released from previous collections (which is kinda annoying) and a third was a boring red creme. But the fourth one caught my eye. I don't normally do browns but this one, Buried Alive, seemed so glowly and gorgeous I had to get it. What do you guys think?

I'm so bad; I don't remember how many coats this was. It was either 2 or 3 (I'm guessing 2) but it covered well and wasn't thick or streaky.

Random NOTD: Cult Nails My Kind of Cool Aid Under Orly Winter Wonderland

So, I'm still sick, fever, stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing... all that fun crap. I took a 4 and a half hour nap today (well, once again, yesterday, by the time this posts) and I'm already ready for bed again at 8 pm. I don't want to ruin my perfect record of a post every day since I started blogging, so I dragged myself off the couch and away from my Iron Chef America marathon to write this post.

I wore this a few weeks ago and I really liked it. Orly Winter Wonderland is one of my favorite layering polishes ever. I reaaaaally want to go lay back down, so just pictures after this!

Thank you for reading and have a great day/night/whatever!

Sally Hansen Crackle Polish in Fractured Foil Swatches and Review

I was hoping to get pictures of a few more manis with this crackle polish before making a post about it, but I'm still lamenting the loss of my nail on my swatching hand and refuse to take pictures of it.
I had heard that the Sally Hansen crackle polishes didn't "crack" as well as other brands, but I was actually impressed with it. I have the black OPI crackle and the formula is disgusting- it's like tar.  I still wasn't sold on the whole crackle thing even after I bought the black one, but the silver has finally pulled me in.

When I bought the crackle polish I was wearing Orly Luxe, a pale cool gold.  I was worried that there wouldn't be enough contrast for the crackle to show up, but I had to use it anyway.

Next time I will use a darker gold, but I still think the effect is pretty cool.

For this mani I used two different blue cremes from Models Own.  The darker blue is called Betty Blue and the lighter one is called Top Turquoise.I think I messed up with my index finger because i don't think the polish was dry enough when I painted the crackle over it.

Week 9: Shopping my Stash for Untried Polish- Orly Luxe

As you may know, I’m 24 and still in college.  I’m only a sophomore, too.  My first attempt at going to college right out of high school didn’t go so well as I was battling some major inner demons at the time.  So a year and a half ago things finally worked out to where I could go back to school.  My incredibly awesome boyfriend is not making me work, and letting me focus just on school so I can finish faster. I’m not sure if the universe doesn’t want me to go to school or what, because at the beginning of the semester this Spring I had a medical emergency and had to drop all my classes.  This put me really behind.

The reason I’m talking about this is because today is the first day for my summer semester classes.  And it depresses me that my hunger for school has faded.  I feel old and tired.  I know I’m not, but it’s depressing that I’ve gone this far in my life and literally accomplished nothing.  I’ll be 27 or so when I finally graduate and it feels like forever away.  I’m just ready to be done with all this.  I’ll be almost 30 before I accomplish anything major in my life!  Believe me, it’s true.  I’m not just saying it to feel sorry for myself.  It’s sad because it’s true!

Sorry guys for the mopey shit.  I try not to show it, but I can be a pretty depressing person sometimes! Anyway, let’s move on from the “poor me” crap and look at pictures of nail polish! Yay!

Here is another one that has been sitting in my Helmer for over a year. And before I got the Helmer it was sitting in a random shoebox.  I still can’t believe that I have all these amazing polishes that I’ve never used.  I guess it proves that I have way too many! (Click here to see what I've worn in previous weeks).

This was 2 coats. It was nearly opaque in 1, but I’m messy and not very careful.  I love this gold.  I have trouble wearing gold because most are too orangey or yellow and they don’t look very flattering with my skin.  Not that this stops me from wearing them.  But this one is my favorite.
