Getting Buried Alive Is Totally Worth It With This Orly Polish

Ugh, I'm sorry guys. I've been such a terrible blogger. I don't know how I used to manage to post every day AND go to school full time. School takes more time than working because you have homework, studying, papers, etc. And I'm only working part time now and it feels like I have no time! 95% of my makeup and nail polish is still at my ex's house, so that puts a huge damper on my creativity. The amount I do have here is still way more than what most people own, but I'm used to more choices! I feel stifled with "only" 7 blushes to choose from. Haha.

I'm still buying nail polish and makeup and it's slowly adding up. When I finally do get all my stuff back I need to do a MAJOR de-stash and hopefully have a blog sale or something.

Has anyone seen the new movie directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter? Maybe I should be more specific since that previous sentence describes like 10 movies, haha. The Dark Shadows one? I haven't and I'm not so sure I want to. I usually love the Burton/Depp combo but it almost seems like it's starting to feel a bit, dare I say, stale and overdone?

I wasn't too excited by Orly's new collection inspired by Dark Shadows either. 2 colors were renamed and re-released from previous collections (which is kinda annoying) and a third was a boring red creme. But the fourth one caught my eye. I don't normally do browns but this one, Buried Alive, seemed so glowly and gorgeous I had to get it. What do you guys think?

I'm so bad; I don't remember how many coats this was. It was either 2 or 3 (I'm guessing 2) but it covered well and wasn't thick or streaky.

And because I can't just have a regular post, here is a picture of my pug and her standard poodle friend Blanco.

  1. What a gorgeous polish! I'm so pleased I have this one ordered, I should have it soon :) I wish I could just go and get all of your stuff for you, I would feel so weird not being able to use my stuff even if I didn't *need* it. Just not having it available would drive me mad.

    1. Yay, I'm glad you're getting it! I love it. I wish you could go get my stuff for me too... I've been dreading it and have been putting it off for the longest time. I keep thinking that maybe I'll feel better and have more closure once I have all my things.

    2. Is there anyone you could take with you to get it? The moral support might be a good motivator :)

    3. Well, my ex is SUPPOSED to bring it to me in a few weeks. Which is nice of him because he lives 5 hours away. He's been delaying because he knows I don't want to be "just friends" and after I have my stuff I plan on saying goodbye. He had his chance. If he doesn't come I plan on taking as much family as I can rope up for support. I'll just be glad to have my things.

  2. Wow, this is such a pretty brown! I don't even think of browns as pretty in most cases.

Cute doggies. I love working with the dogs at the shelter.

    1. Right? I never think of brown polish as pretty. So how is the shelter? Is it volunteer? I would love playing with animals all day.

  3. Gorgeous rich chocolate colour! And yeah I wasn't too keen on seeing Dark Shadows, I think it looked a bit immature - disappointing for Burton and Depp!

    1. I never thought I would like a brown this much! I will probably end up seeing the movie. Maybe if it comes out on Netflix or something.

  4. I love how this reminds me of rootbeer...yummy! This is the only one I'm interested in out of them all. I hear you on the movies too...this one seems kinda silly. I want more creepiness and less silly please!

ps if you ever do a blog sale I think I will be in trouble!! :)

    1. Ooooh, I love root beer! This is officially my root beer polish. You should get it; it's gorgeous.

Now I sort of have a morbid curiosity to see the movie. Maybe since I'm expecting it to be horrible it won't be as bad as if I was expecting more from it. Haha.

    1. If you have a Sally's near you this is on clearance for $3.99 AND when I went all their clearance was an additional 50% off.

Yes I do know Phyrra! I actually emailed her this photo because it reminded me of her, haha.

  8. I usually hate brown anything, but that polish is awesome! I didn't see Dark Shadows but a friend did and said it was rubbish. Both those doggies are adorable!
