Well, my nails say that, but I'm neither hardcore or girly. I wonder what a mani would look like to represent who I really am- open minded with the sense of humor of a 13 year old boy. Probably OPI's fart polish. I am not ashamed of it. I'm 25 years old and "potty humor" gets me every time.
Anyway, I absolutely loved this mani. I've never done an accent nail before. I used OPI's Metallic 4 Life on all fingers but my ring finger, and Revlon's Starry Pink as the accent nail. Both polishes are silver glitter in a base and have large hex glitter. The Revlon only has one other small size of glitter while the OPI had several different sizes.
Metallic 4 Life is from the Nicki Minaj collection. Every time I see the name I think it says Metallica 4 Life, which would actually make me love the polish more. Metallica is the shit, while Nicki Minaj I can't really say as I don't even think I've heard one her songs all the way through, so I won't judge. Just doesn't seem like my thing. I would really love a Metallica nail polish collection though. Like an acid green with gold shimmer called Battery or a blue jelly with green glitter called Orion (Master of Puppets is my favorite album). This color would have been perfect for it, too. But, I digress.
PICTURE TIME!
This was 2 coats of OPI Metallica 4 Life and 4 coats of Revlon Starry Pink with base and top coats.
What do you guys think? Is there too much contrast between the two colors? Oooh, know what would look cool as an accent nail with Metallic 4 Life? China Glaze's Fortune Teller. Don't you think?

My Lips But Better With Estee Lauder Double Wear Lipstick in Stay Honey
Thank you everyone for your continued support through all my griping, moaning, and complaining. It means so much to hear everyone's kind words. I'm so lucky to have a group of ladies like you all who stick with me even though I am far from the most uplifting person lately. I don't really talk about how bad things can get for me to people in my "real" life (ugh, is there a better way to say that? "In person life"? Haha, I dunno), and I feel like this is my safe place, so it sometimes just spills out. I just hate that helpless look on my loved one's faces where they don't know what to say or do to help me and they get frustrated by all my seemingly "one step forward, two steps back" lack of progress sometimes. So I've learned to just keep things to myself. Plus, not thinking about how shitty you feel is the best way to not feel quite so shitty, if that makes sense. Well, I'm a-ramblin' now. Anyways, thanks guys. Ya'll (fuck it, I'm from Texas, I'm allowed to say ya'll) mean so much to me.
Soooo, I bought this lipstick. I'm not sure why. It looked so ugly/boring in the tube (pinky brown) and even on the swatch on my arm but I ended up loving it on my lips. It's a gorgeous My Lips But Better (MLBB) shade on me. I really got it for work ;-) because I wanted something long lasting that I don't have to reapply every hour and would go with a variety of eye looks. When I think about it, I'm not sure why I bought one when I have access to tons of testers I can use anytime. Haha, now I feel like I wasted money. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about other people's lip herpes or whatever since it's MY lipstick.
Anyway, I like it. It's matte, lasts forever, and not drying. It's comfortable to wear and I forget I am wearing it. I'm a big fan of Estee Lauder's Double Wear line, and not just cuz I hafta be.
PICTURES!
I think the reason I used to think of Estee Lauder as an "old lady" brand is exemplified by the picture above. The packaging just looks a bit dated to me. I think this may throw off a lot of people from trying the brand for that reason.
In real life the lipstick looks darker and pinker in the tube. Dumb camera.
I wasn't too impressed with the color when I swatched it on my arm...
But I ended up loving it on my lips.
Sure it is probably the least exciting color in the whole world, but I don't always need a party on my lips. Especially if I'm going for bolder/more colorful eyes, which I usually do. If you DO want a party on your lips I recommend this.
So what are some of you guys' go-to "boring" lip colors?

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting so often. Work has kept me pretty busy. Excuses, excuses! FOTD- Perpetually Purple
Maybe this post should have been called Perpetually Blue instead. Because that seems to be me. I've been feeling all gross and "emo" (I hate that stupid word) lately so I haven't been posting as much as I would like to. Actually, I've been feeling that way for the past 7 months. I know things are supposed to get better with time, but I'm still waiting for that. So, Time, if you could take even a little edge off the pain I would be very grateful. Thanks.
So, my job is still going well. Which is surprising since I've pretty much hated every job I've ever had. I think I just like it because it gives me a break from thinking about how miserable I am, haha. You know things are bad when WORKING gives you a break. Anyway, here is some makeup I wore to work one day last week. Wow, this post is epically depressing. Which kinda makes me laugh. I'm so weird.

Hopefully I can be happy again soon. I mean, I have to right?

Zoya Swatches
Sooooo... I got the makeup counter job I wanted. The one I only had a million interviews for. Well, 4. But still. The last one was a "structured phone interview" where they fire questions at you and don't give you any feedback at all. Nor can they clarify anything. It was kind of weird, but my boss said I passed with flying colors. Apparently 2 other people from other stores made it all the way up to the final phone interview like I did but they failed to get the job. Unlike me! It's nice to know that other people believe in me. It just makes me want to work extra hard to prove myself. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say what the company is. I don't see why it should be a problem, but when the lady comes to train me I'll ask her about it. It will probably be pretty easy to figure out eventually anyway seeing as most of my paycheck will go right back to them and I DO have a makeup blog. So yay me!
Well, this is SUPPOSED to be a makeup/nail blog. Although recently it seems to mostly be nail polish. And continues to be such with today's post. I have swatches of the 7 nail polishes I picked up during Zoya's Earth Day sale. I'm excited because I loved them all. Usually there is at least one that disappoints me, but not this time!
I guess I was in the mood for blues and purples!
All of the following swatches are 2 coats with no base or top coat. Sorry for the messy swatches. I still need to get a new clean-up brush.
Surprisingly this is one of my favorites. I hesitantly added it to my cart after really falling in love with swatches and I'm so glad. I LOVE it. It's a pink based nude while most others seem to be yellow based. I have my good friend Maribeth of Obsessive Cosmetics Hoarders Unite to thank for my recent foray into nude polishes. If you don't already follow her, you should. She's amazing!
I can never get enough of this type of color. With creme finishes I usually have the urge to slap some glitter over them, but this one is pretty enough to be left alone. In case you missed my last post, I found a dupe of this one from Sinful Colors.
This color was the one I was most excited for. It's a teal foil and completely different from anything in my collection. I love it.
Skylar is a dusty slate blue with multicolored shimmer flecks- mostly gold, pink and blue although they can tend to look silver. It is ridiculously pretty too.
I've been wanting this one forever! It has the same size shimmer flecks as Skylar, but they are pink.
This is a similar concept to Lotus, but different enough I had to own them both. Tru has a more saturated red-violet base versus the dusty purple of Lotus. And instead of the pink shimmer, this one looks more reddish gold.
I guess I forgot to get a picture of this one in the shade!
Rory is another one that isn't my typical nail polish. I don't wear pinks that often, but when I do I prefer a bolder, more in-your-face color. This is a more delicate pink, but it's a foil and another that is completely unique in my collection. I'm so glad this one didn't disappoint.
And of course I could pass up an opportunity to assault you with cute pictures of my pug. She's sleeping in my mom's bed. My mom and her always take naps together; it's so cute.
So did you guys pick up any polishes during the Earth Day sale? If you don't already have an account with Zoya you can use my link here. If you sign up using my link we each get a coupon for a free polish. If you use this coupon and add 2 more polishes to your order, you will get free shipping, too. So 3 nail polishes for $16 when with shipping would normally cost you about $30. Zoya always has the best deals. I love them!

Dupe Alert! Zoya Wednesday and Sinful Colors Greek Isles
Did anyone else buy any polishes during Zoya's Earth Day sale? I certainly did. I haven't missed it in 3 years. And when I say I bought polishes, I mean that I picked them and someone else paid. Haha. Anyway, Zoya Wednesday was one that I was wanting the most, besides Zuza. But it turns out I already had a dupe for it- Sinful Colors Greek Isles from their spring collection called Cast Away. Let's see if you guys think they're dupes.
They look close in the bottles, but not really exact right? Let's see the swatches.
So can you tell which color is on which finger? I asked my mother and she got it completely wrong. She picked two fingers she thought were the same color and it was really one of each. So which is which? Don't cheat and keep scrolling down!
To keep you from cheating here is a picture of my pug looking extra cute.
Did anyone guess this? It's hard to tell but Zoya Wednesday is a tad bit lighter and greener. In person no one would be able to tell they were two different polishes. They both applied about the same too. Each took 2 coats and were smooth and creamy. I have to give the slight edge to Zoya but that may just be me trying to justify buying it when I already had the Sinful.
Witht the macros you can see the differences a little better. Really, they are so close you don't need both. I WOULD recommend you get the Sinful over the Zoya as it retails for $1.99 and the Zoya is $8, but the Sinful may be a little harder to find as it was part of a limited edition collection for Spring. Hopefully they make it permanent! And you never know, it might be released again under a different name. Sinful loves doing that.
So do you have either of these? Have you found any dupes lately?

Wearing Glitter Nails To Work
My main criteria in finding a job was one that let me wear any polish in my extensive collection. Okay, maybe that wasn't a criteria, I just needed a job. When I was hired last week I purposefully never asked what the nail polish policy was because I was afraid of the answer. So my first day I decided to do a test. I wore glitter, but not TOO over the top, as glitter goes. I purposefully waved my hands around a lot to make sure my boss would notice them and he never said a word. Probably because he thought I was a crazy person for waving my hands around so much. So anyway, I took this as the "all clear" to wear any polish I want. Plus, I did end up asking. Picture me wearing this polish and fluttering my fingers in the face of my new boss. I'm sure that's what it looked like!
This was 2 coats of Wet n Wild Jewels for Your Highness. It looks more sheer in the pictures than it did in real life, but it probably could have used another coat.
It's so weird; at some angles it looks green.
This picture is of my mom's snapdragons when they were still pretty. It's getting hot here and they aren't too happy with it. Hell, who is?
I'll leave you with a picture of my parent's beagle resting his head on my pug's back. They both desperately want the squeaky carrot toy at the bottom that I'm teasing them with.
