The blush appears mostly matte, but there is a subtle sheen/sparkle to it that really is only visible in strong light. The texture leaves a little to be desired as it's a bit on the dry and stiff side, but I still find I can pick up plenty of pigment and it blends well.

The name Blush Subtil is not a misnomer as this seemingly bold tangerine shade is much more wearable than it appears in the pan. However it is buildable to be much more intense and I believe it would work for darker skin tones as well.
Here is a comparison of Sleek's Pan Tao blush (left) and Tangerine Tint. Tangerine Tint is softer and not nearly as orange. It has a peachier tone to it.
Here I am wearing the blush really softly.
And here I packed the blush on a bit more. I didn't wear it like this, but it was just to show you that it is buildable.
$30 is the highest amount I've paid for a blush, but for me it was worth it. The color was unique enough and flattering enough on my skin that I could justify the price (or at least that's what I tell myself). Over the years I've noticed a definite shift in my spending. I've gone from the "Pokemon" mindset of "I need to have ALL the makeup" to being more selective and really picking things I think I will use and are of good quality. Every now and again I will find myself going back to my old ways and "binging", but not often. "Window shopping" online has really helped curb that. I've put together and abandoned hundreds of carts in the past year. If i find myself going back to the same items over and over I know that it's something I really want. Anyway, I digressed quite a bit. So what do you think of the blush? What is the most you have spent on a blush? Was it worth it?
Oh, and for your viewing pleasure, my sleepy pug.
That is a really pretty shade, thanks for comparing it to Pan Tao (which I own!) I like that it is peachier but satin rather than shimmery. Your pug is adorable as well :)
ReplyDeleteI like Pan Tao a lot, but i have a tendency to be really heavy handed with blush, so having a more subtle option is nice.
DeleteFirst of all, I want to give your doggie a hug. Like I'm really close to just hugging my screen. So cute!
ReplyDeleteNow on to the point, this blush looks really nice on you. I don't know about the micro-bubbles, either, but whatever they are doing is working! I'm sure NARS Sex Appeal is my most expensive blush at $28. The MAC ones aren't much cheaper, though, in fact my Azalea Blossom ombre might have been even more.
Isn't she super cute! I can't ever get over it. I bet she gets so tired of me squeezing her all the times, haha. And yay for more micro-bubbles! Heh. I don't know what it is, but I'm much more likely to spend money on blush than other makeup products. Like I have never spent over $15 for a lipstick.
DeleteI want! I want! I love using peach blushes at shoots, because they appear so lovely in final photographs. And they're a nice change from standard rose pink.
ReplyDeleteJess (and everyone else), did you know you could buy Lancome at this site?:

I think peach blushes make your face look really fresh or something. Okay, that sounds weird, but I don't know how to describe it. But now you've made me want to wear a rose pink blush, haha.
DeleteEvery now and then I'll go browse All Cosmetics Wholesale, but I don't think I've ever noticed they had Lancome.
It looks totally awesome on you! Very pretty! I will blame you if I get one myself hahaha! It makes me feel bad when you say $30 is the highest amount you paid for a blusher - my most expensive was Chanel Horizon, which was £46 equivalent to $80 at the time. Oooops! :P
ReplyDeleteYou should get it! Haha. Oh man, I'm glad that Chanel blush was limited edition or I would be tempted to buy it! It's cray that you had to pay that much for it. I think it was only about $58 here.
DeleteOh gosh, that color is lovely. I agree I would not wear it that concentrated, but in your first picture it is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a great colour! I wonder what micro-bubbles are....lol! The most I have spent on a blush is $32 (Canadian) on NARS blushes which are really nice, in my opinion. My favourite blushes are all indie ones, however (which is a good thing because they are WAY less expensive!)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh that is SO pretty and so pretty on YOU. i adore fresh true peachy blushes like that, wish i could find a drugstore one just like that, cannot afford Lancome at this time, but yea, tired of the usual pinky peach and dusty pink blushes that are so common
