The Day That Never Comes And Teal Liner For Work

I'm sorry guys; I haven't much felt like blogging lately. I'm starting to wonder if I still really love makeup and nail polish or if it's just me trying to force things. I'm still waiting to feel "normal" again, but it hasn't happened yet. I guess I need to redefine what normal is for me, but I don't want this to be my new normal. Still holding out hope for things to get better. I mean, I can't give up right? Just keep on truckin'. More out of habit than any real desire to do so.

I guess I'm just (understandably) questioning everything. Who am I really, what do I want, am I doing the right thing, etc? I guess I still do enjoy my pretty sparkly things. I had fun doing a neutral lid with a sparkly teal liner under my lower lashes for work a few days ago.

Eyes:

  • Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe on lid
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald below lower lash line
  • darker teal color from LA Colors palette in Water Lily (swatch here)
over Edgy Emerald below lower lash line
  • Urban Decay Shadow Pencil in Sin in inner corner
  • Urban Decay Virgin to highlight
  • Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero to line upper lash line and water line
  • Revlon Grow Luscious mascara in Black on lashes
  • Urban Decay Buck on eyebrows
Face:
  • Estee Lauder BB Creme in Light
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in Shell as concealer
  • Physician's Formula Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder Foundation in Translucent Light
Cheeks
  • Milani blush in Luminous
Lips
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

And just because I can and my doggies make me happy, here is a picture of my parents' beagle Layla sleeping on my bed.

  2. That's exactly it-finding a new normal. It sucks when it's not your choice, but hang in there. "When I was your age..." (but seriously) I went through something similar. I remembering questioning everything and really just being immensely displeased with my life. It does get better. I'm not sure if it helps to tell you that what you are going through is 'normal', but I want you to know I think about you and can totally relate! Ok, this eye look is AWESOME on you!!! I love it....makes me want to bust out my teal liner (and makes me bummed that I have to wait til tomorrow to do so since I already did my makeup for the day! ha) :)

    1. Haha Maribeth. I don't know what it is, but you never fail to make me smile. I know so many people can relate and I know everyone is rooting for me. It does help. I just see myself being in in love with him the rest of my life. Because that's how I am. It suuuuucks.

Take more pictures of your makeup girl! I want to see your pretty face!

  3. Sighm. I've been craving Edgy Emerald, and what do you do to me? You wear it, therefore compelling me to go out and buy it. :P

I love that pic of Layla. What a cutie!

    1. Edgy Emerald can be a little sheer on it's own, but it looks AWESOME as a base. Let me know what you think of it if you get it!

Oh, Layla is a full blooded beagle so it may not seem like it, but she was a rescue dog! We saved her from a shelter. Apparently she had never had a home before. She is the sweetest, most loving dog ever.

  4. Please don't stop blogging! Your posts are a first-read in my dash when they do come up :)

In regards to "waiting for a day that doesn't come," I know exactly what you mean. I went through a pretty bad, completely unexpected break-up recently. I've discovered that it's not a linear progression of "every day hurts less and less;" some days it hurts more than others. But overall, you get back into your groove of being your own person. I've started concentrating on making myself a solid, independently awesome person that doesn't need a boyfriend to feel like I'm living a full life. When the next guy comes along, I will only allow him to add to my already awesome life, and not take anything away if it doesn't work out.

Think about all of the awesome accomplishments you've already made on your own! Getting that make-up counter job over all of those people that applied for it...that's a pretty amazing thing! And btw, you look GORGEOUS in that picture!

Okay, getting off of this ramble-train. I hope any of that made sense...feel better, keep your head up, and definitely keep truckin'! :)

    1. EXACTLY Meg. Some days I'm like, "Well, this is bearable" and other days I'm like, "Oh dear god strike me down now it hurts so much". That life (and him) was all I knew since I was 16, practically still a child. It's just so hard to let go when you don't know anything else. I'm not even ready to think about the next guy yet. Of course I'm just saying this now, but I hope there never is another one. I'm proud of you for coming to the mindset you have. Maybe some day it will be me. Hopefully!

And you're right, I have come so far on my own. I'm stronger and more mature and getting that job really helped give me some validation. Thank you for the ramble-train. It was wonderful hearing for you! :)

And I'll try and keep blogging. It's nice knowing that people look forward to my posts. Thank you!

  5. I like the lower lash line colors the most, very pretty! I totally understand feeling a little forced to blog. You're probably not so much out of love with makeup and nails as you just have been over saturated with them for so long now. I think you'll have some days you want to do stuff and perhaps more days you don't. I honestly don't wear much makeup any more, but once in a while when I feel the urge, I'll do something and then blog about it. That's why my current blog is more adventuring than beauty, lol
