OPI Absolutely Alice

Just a quick post for today. I've managed to get a lot of polishes swatched that I wanted to, but now lack the energy to prepare the posts, haha. Also I ate half a box of Bottle Caps candies and now my stomach hurts. I'm so bad.

So, I'm still kicking myself for not buying OPI's Mad As A Hatter when it first came out. I didn't realize how popular it would be so I figured I would have time to get it later. Absolutely Alice (from the same collection) is awesome too, but not on the same level as Mad As A Hatter. So this the only reason I was able to get Absolutely Alice. The eBay prices weren't TOO inflated, haha. But the polish still is really pretty! If you can find a bottle for a decent price I recommend picking it up.

I believe this was 3 coats.

Recent Nail Polish Acquisitions (AKA I Buy Way Too Much Polish)

So I drank a bottle of champagne last night- by myself, for no reason. Haha, how sad does that sound? I rarely drink and this bottle of champagne had been in my refrigerator since New Year's. I was just waiting for a special occasion. I got tired of waiting and decided Tuesday evening was special occasion enough. So I drank the bottle, got really happy, danced around to the Gangnam Style song, got sleepy, laid down and read a book, then got totally sober and awake and decided to write this post.

Since I decided to write this post at such an ungodly hour I'm just going to show bottle pics of some of my more recent nail polishes purchases. I'm sure there have been more than this... somewhere in the abyss that is my nail polish "storage" (aka random boxes stashed around my room) now that my Helmer is full.

Butter London- No More Waity Katie, Knackered, Wallis, All Hail the Queen
Icing- Lipstick & Lovers, Forget You, Eenie Greenie Miney Mo, Mr Right Now (not as neon as it looks)
Barielle Falling Star, OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, KleanColor Chunky Holo Black, Nicole by OPI For Gold Times Sake, OPI Fly, Barielle Buddha-ful
Hits Mari Moon- Artsy, Daring, Chameleon, Unconventional
Zoya- Fei Fei, Frida, Anastasia, Daul, Zara, Jules, Song, Bevin
This was my order from the recent buy one get one free Zoya sale. I got the sugar scrub and the polish remover free.

Innisfree Yogurt Nail Polish Swatches

Yikes! I haven't written a new post in forever. I can't believe I used to post once every day. Now I'm just trying to figure out where all the time goes.

I guess maybe the wait for another post was worth it because today I have something for you I'm really excited about. I had seen these Korean polishes on a few blogs and became enamored with them. So when I found a listing on eBay for 3 of them for $17 shipped I pounced on it. About $6 each is not much more than the price of drugstore polishes here. I'm such a dork; it excites me so much that with the internet we have access to products from other countries we never would have had before. I know a lot of people are against globalization, but hey, if it gets me cool nail polishes I'm all for it! I've heard these polishes referred to as "yogurt", but seeing as I can't read Korean, I'm not really sure what the name of the collection is. As far as I know the individual polishes aren't named either, but assigned numbers. The collection is numbers 81-85 and I have 81, 82, and 84 to show you today.

I was super happy not only with my polishes, but the packaging and the extras. The box has a honeycomb pattern with bees and flowers and has a chat bubble saying, "Bee happy!" I thought it was freakin' adorable. They also sent along a packet of body wash, Hello Kitty band aids, and a body scrubber cloth. I thought it was hilarious that the body wash says "Fruits water. Made in nature." on the front.

Here is the seller and listing I bought from. I recommend them just because I had such an awesome experience, but this seller seems to offer 4 of the polishes for an even cheaper price.

I read somewhere that these bottles are only 10 ml (and that seems about right).

For all polishes I did 3 coats with no base or top coat. There is still a teeny bit of visible nail line after 3 coats but not enough to bother me. I want to layer these to not run out so quickly, but I like the squishy look from wearing them alone.

This one is supposed to be a dupe of Revlon's Whimsical (and as an extension Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air). I used to own Whimsical and while I wanted to love it, I just couldn't. It took too many coats to get to the opacity I wanted and was just a thick muddled mess. This one, on the other hand, is everything I wished Whimsical to be. Much, much better.

And just because I also found this hilarious, read the little insert that came with my scrubby towel thing.

Use with water and bubble!

NOTD- Sparkly Purple Goodness

So, continuing my purple theme lately here is one of my favorite layering combos I've worn lately. Okay, this is more blue that purple, but I still loved it. If you don't have any KleanColor polishes you need to rectify that immediately. They may smell terrible (yes, even worse than most polish) and may need to be thinned, but they are dirt cheap, have a huge selection (about 250 colors) and some of the colors are GORGEOUS. Like this listing on eBay- you get to pick any 12 colors for $16.85 with free shipping. I highly recommend the metallic series (157-168) and I plan on swatching all 12 of them soon.

Anyway, someone recommended KleanColor Holo Chrome to me and I don't regret picking it up at all. It is neither a chrome or a holo incidentally, but small holo glitter in a indigo blue jelly-ish base. I layered it over a really pretty purple, Icing's Forget You which is medium dark purple with blue and pink shimmer flecks. I haven't worn it by itself but it seems opaque enough to cover in a few coats. It dries a bit gritty so I used two coats of topcoat.

This two coats of Icing Forget You under 1 coat of KleanColor Holo Chrome with base and top coats.

Do you have any KleanColors? What are your favorites. Another of my favorites is Chunky Holo Black (also not a holo).
